Welcome to your first NEWT task! There are two options for Term 1, so please read through both before deciding on a task!

I assume that you remember most of what you learned in your OWL year, but if there's anything you've forgotten make sure that you familiarize yourself with the Agrippan method of Arithmancy, as that is the chart we will use for all calculations in this class. You should also have a good handle on the formula and meaning of character, social, and heart numbers as well as a fair idea of the meaning of the numbers 1-9 so that you may apply them in context given any calculations you complete.

Both option 1 and 2 for Term 1 center around the use of Arithmancy in terms of people. Arithmancy is a valuable tool for analyzing the inner workings of man, and can often reveal things we cannot delve deep enough to find on our own.

Option 1 asks you to complete, in 500 words, a self study based on finding your own Arithmetic numbers and submitting a self-reflection. I expect an explanation of what your heart, social, and character numbers should mean about you, and some sort of explanation as to why these are or aren't true. You can take it as serious you want, or be funny with it: I just want you to apply the things you've learned in Arithmancy to your own life, and maybe learn something about yourself while you're at it!
